“AMERICA’S NEXT SPORTS STAR” a new weekly reality show offers amateur athletes the opportunity of a lifetime.

 

Tryouts in Brookly, NYIt combines the excitement of a professional sporting event with the intuitiveness and daring of other reality shows.

 

In this sports reality show, amateur male contestants compete in a basketball competition to determine the nation’s best athletes.

 

“AMERICA’S NEXT SPORTS STAR” is a celebration of the American dream that captures the competitive spirit.

 

Each athlete will have 30 seconds to demonstrate their ability in a variety of skills in this weekly show. This isn’t some teenager singing another person’s hit tune.

 

This is a lively, fast-paced, action filled program that draws upon the tone and excitement from the grandfather of all reality genres—the sports world.

 

Hundreds of unknown athletes from all over the country will descend into Las Vegas, Nevada for a shot at the big time. National auditions will be held to seek out the best amateur male athletes in basketball.

 

Each round of play will feature a group of athletes racing against the clock to score as many points as possible.

 

The competition will be graded by a group of judges who are ex-sports stars, coaches and professional scouts. The judges will grade athletes on their form, quickness and overall abilities.

 

300 athletes will be invited but 250 of those will be eliminated after the first show. Those 25 contestants who survive the grueling trials of the opening competition move on to the next round where the challenges become more difficult, and the players’ resiliency and determination are tested even further.

 

Each week more competitors will be eliminated by the vote of the judges until the final climatic show when the best amateur athletes in the nation square off against each other.

The surviving champion from this prestigious national event will achieve the ultimate dream: cash, prizes, and a contract with one of the world’s top sports agents.


American Next Sports Star PhotosThe judges are some of most respected names in the world of sports, and will periodically give tips to the viewing and studio audience on how to better their game.

The hosts of the program (one male, one female) will be two colorful and charismatic individuals who will serve as the glue to the show. Quick-witted and Insightful, they will offer commentary before and after each event, and background on the program’s competitors.


As a sidelight there also will be an array of entertaining, offbeat and humorous sports skills displayed by willing participants.

 

Like a regular sports event, a core of dazzling and lovely cheerleaders and dancers will be on hand, leading the applause and support for the resolute contenders of the real competition.

 

As the athletes advance into each successive round, expect some of these previously unknown folks to become popular with the national TV audience and grow into household names.

 

This is a program for the participant and the viewer: a good old-fashioned party for America.
